We had the pleasure of capturing this beautiful mama-to-be in our Midtown Manhattan NYC studio. Based on our pre-session consultation, we decided to focus on the timeless beauty of implied nudes with tasteful hand placement. Comfort is of the essence for this exquisite style of portraiture, and we always strive to create a relaxed and cozy environment for our clients. Per mama’s request, we also captured some more conservative portraits with the dress she’d worn for her baby shower. Such an honor to capture these precious memories as beautiful works of art to be treasured for years to come.

We capture a blend of camera aware poses and intimate poses cradling the belly, while other maternity poses emphasize the beautiful curves of pregnancy.
The best time to capture your maternity photos is 32 – 36 weeks into your pregnancy. Your belly is beautifully round, but you are still feeling comfortable to kneel and lay down for a variety of fabulous poses. For expecting mothers of twins, we recommend 26 to 30 weeks since twins tend to arrive earlier. We recommend professional make-up and hair styling to ensure a timeless look for your portraits. Natural make-up, fake lashes, and soft curls are generally preferred among our clients. We offer a wardrobe of fitted maternity gowns, silk fabrics, lace robes, and crop tops for a variety of beautiful concepts. Clients are also welcome to bring their own lingerie and styles if they have a particular concept in mind. As you’ll see in our portfolio, we love to get creative!

After your maternity session, we tastefully and artistically edit your select images to bring our your natural beauty to light. Rest assured that we’ll adjust white balance, extend the backdrops, crop artistically, retouch distractions, warm skin tones, minimize blemishes, and smooth body contours to make sure you look your best. We generally leave the linea negra for a natural feel, but you can request to have it removed if that’s your personal preference. In order to display the full extent of artistry of our work, we deliver your edited images both in color and b&w. They are elegant and timeless.

Even though our wardrobe has plenty of beautiful options, we encourage our clients to bring something of their own to add something special to their photos. For example, casual pre-maternity jeans, fashionable business attire, wedding jewelry, bridal veil, or a traditional outfit.
